Week 10 Activity: Communicating Your Practice
My photographic practice is still in its infancy, which is unusual for someone who has been taking pictures for such a long period of time. But I feel as though I still deciding on content, direction and purpose with regards to my photography.
initially the reasoning behind my photographic practice was purely commission and although I found this to be rewarding and challenging it is something that I want to move away from.
My current practice is primarily focussed around communication, my current intention for a photographic portfolio, involves documentary photography. I see photography as a powerful means for communication.
The ability to share a subject, from your perspective with the viewer is something that can’t be as easily replicated with many other mediums. Even film is restricted by language. Photography is universal and allows the photographer to share their viewpoint of a subject or event.
